Workshop on conservation and monitoring of forest genetic resources

A joint EUFORGEN/FORGER workshop was held in Järvenpää (near Helsinki), Finland on 18-20 September 2012. The workshop was organized in collaboration with the Finnish Forest Research Institute (Metla).

The purpose of the workshop was to discuss conservation strategies and genetic monitoring approaches. The EUFORGEN Working Groups on genetic conservation strategies and genetic monitoring presented their findings and proposals during the workshop for further discussion.

During the workshop, we had an opportunity to interview the leader of the project's work on the inventories on forest genetic resources.
